In this section, you will find answers to questions commonly asked by people interested in working for Gifford.

Q. How is the current economic climate affecting your recruitment program?
A: Sadly, as with many of our competitors, we have had to lose staff over recent months rather than take on new recruits. We hope the situation will reverse very soon and that we will return to intake levels similar to those seen in 2007 and 2008. In the meantime we regret that job opportunities are, at the moment, few and far between.

Q. How can I find out if there are any vacancies at Gifford right now?
A: Search our list of current vacancies – this is updated regularly so if we do not have anything now, or anything that interests you, please keep coming back.

Q: How do I apply to join Gifford?
A: Complete our on-line application form. We endeavour to contact all applicants within four weeks. Interviews are held locally.

Q. Do I need a degree to work at Gifford?
A. It will depend on the level and nature of the role you are interested in. If a degree is a requirement it will be stated in the job description. However a candidate who does not hold a degree may still be considered for one of our vacancies if they can demonstrate relevant experience.

Q. Will Gifford apply for a work permit for me?
A. We will endeavour to apply for a work permit on your behalf provided you meet current Home Office criteria.

Q: Do you offer vacation work and/or industrial placements?
A: Yes, but as with general recruitment, opportunities right now are very thin. Please refer to the Students and Undergraduates page for further information.

Q: Will I be paid for vacation and industrial employment?
A: Yes

Q: Do you offer sponsorship to undergraduates?
A: Yes, we offer a number of bursaries each year to undergraduates who have worked for us in their summer vacation or on an industrial placement and who are nominated by their line manager. We also sponsor a modest number students through accredited schemes such as ICE Quest and CITB Inspire, and partnership schemes with leading UK universities.
