Tradewinds

The Tradewinds development consists of three towers of up to 16 storeys, housing 81 luxury apartments plus car parking and retail units at the lower levels.
Notable Features
In a first for Gibraltar, the in situ concrete frame is made up of flat unbonded post-tensioned floors which allow an additional storey to be included within the building height restrictions. Wind modelling was carried out in conjunction with the BRE to ascertain loads and wind environment factors, thus enabling the cores to be designed more efficiently and assisting the architect to ascertain the best position for entrances and balconies. The frame is clad in a mixture of high-quality precast panels and curtain walling while the upper penthouses are also enclosed within curtain walling.
Our specialists also undertook environmental modelling to determine the heating and cooling load requirements and advise on the use of balconies to reduce solar gains during the day.
