Masterplanning and Development

Gifford has extensive experience of working alongside developers and scheme promoters. We contribute at all stages, from initial ideas through site appraisal and feasibility stages into final design and implementation. We offer our services throughout these stages across all of our disciplines. Through our unique Technical Development Appraisal process we are able to assess where the real issues lie and guide our clients in prioritising where to focus their time, money and effort and avoid unnecessary expenditure.

When considering area masterplans we use the same process to assess the constraints and opportunities that an area presents, and then work with the stakeholders and the other team members to develop realistic potential solutions.  We believe that community consultation, often through community planning events, is critical to achieving the best possible outcomes. We are strong advocates of the design charrette process, and believe that often the best solutions are arrived at by constructive challenge and appreciative inquiry where all involved are encouraged to contribute not only in their own field but also across each other’s areas of expertise.
