A new era is opening up in the field of gantry design with the advent of national road information networks and sophisticated traffic control systems. Fixed and variable signs together with electronic cameras, monitoring and tolling arrays are typical of the equipment now mounted on overhead gantry platforms. These developments coincide with the publication of new requirements, based on many years experience with Department of Transport standard gantries and on a careful analysis of requirements.  A comprehensive gantry design service is offered for superstructure and foundations. The new gantries are designed in single or twin arrangements, according to location and allow operation of all kinds of lane and signalling equipment either alone or in combination with fixed direction signs.
